Introducing OfficeDrop Labs

We are very excited to announce OfficeDrop Labs, a way by which we can offer you a sneak-peek into the shiny new (and of-course useful!) things that we are working here at OfficeDrop. Labs give you a great opportunity to experience the cutting edge of OfficeDrop, while helping us stay true to our values of engaging our users and "Release early, Release Often". These features are still considered "beta" and will be rough around the edges. Currently the following two features are available for your experimentation:

• Barcode Labeling: You can print barcoded sheets for your labels and send them along with the Scanvelopes. The labels encoded in those barcodes will automatically be applied to your documents when we scan them.
• Rules Based Labeling: You can setup rules such that documents are automatically labeled based on their contents or name. For example, you may configure a rule to automatically a label of "Tax Deduction" for any document that contains the terms "Comcast" and "Internet". All documents that match the rule will have the label applied to them, regardless of how they are sent (emailed, uploaded or scanned).

A limited number of invitations to OfficeDrop Labs are available now. Tell us which feature you want enabled.

Microsoft Office 2007 and Open Office formats are now supported

We now support Microsoft Office 2007 (Word and Excel) documents formats. Specifically, support for files with extension .docx and .xlsx is now enabled. Additionally we also support Open Office document formats bringing the total supported file extensions to 20. Documents in any of these formats can be emailed or uploaded, making ubiquitous capture as easy as 1-2-3 (or P-D-F). Support for Powerpoint 2007 (.pptx extension) file format will be added in a future release.
